From a Future Not Yet Here.
DoNext!! is an online magazine that imagines life and work in possible futures through interviews with fictional people who live there.
Where would they live, what would they do for a living, and how would they spend time with the people who matter to them? Following one person's ordinary day, we ask ourselves: How would I live in this future?
We want to make lives and careers that do not yet exist feel tangible, so there are more possibilities to imagine. That is why we make this magazine.

The people in our interviews are fictional. The societies and jobs of the future are only some of the possibilities we can imagine from the changes we see today.
To build those possibilities, we draw on developments in technology, society and culture that are already happening. We clearly distinguish the fictional parts of a story from information that can be verified today.

Starting with a Person's Day,
We Imagine the Future.
Technology and public policy alone rarely show us how someone might actually live in a changed world.
What time would they wake up? Where would they work? Who would they have dinner with? DoNext!! portrays the ordinary days, decisions and uncertainties of people living alongside technologies that have become part of everyday life.
We want to meet people who might really be living a little way into the future, and hope that learning about their lives offers a starting point for thinking about our own.

If you find yourself asking, 'Has any of this already begun?', look at the end of an interview. There we introduce the real technologies and initiatives connected to the story, with links to their sources.
Our Wednesday columns take a closer look at technologies and services available today. Saturday columns explore the characters' daily lives and the pleasures of their cities, offering another way into the same imagined world.
NOW, our collection of daily news, is another doorway into the changes happening today. We aim to make a magazine that is entertaining to read and also gives you something to think about in your own work and life.

AI and People,
Making It Together.
We use AI to help plan, edit, write and create images for the magazine.
Our AI editor-in-chief, Wayfinder, introduces each future world and guides readers through it. But the people who live there remain at the heart of each story.
People take part in editorial decisions: which futures to explore, whether information about the present is accurate, and what is ready to publish.
